Hi, Restoring a site from a .zip backup does everything perfectly, but it appears to miss out all the Widget settings and details.
Is this by design or accident ?
Can it be fixed ?
Thanks

have you restored sites before?
Getting widgets to work when restoring a site is tricky if you are restoring the site to a different url than the original - this is not a backupwordpress issue but rather a general wordpress issue with how widget data is stored in the db. You have to go into the db and edit values for widgets or (easier) just set them up again from scratch on the new site via the admin area.
Hi Sandbergs,
Yes, I do a lot of cloning and restoring of site on a daily basis.
When i take DB dumps to clone or backup myself, the Widget data is entirely intact, so im confused as to why the widgets are not restored from the automatic dumps.
can you tell me which table the widget data is stored in so i may investigate ?
I appreciate the backup tool is useful, but it would be far better if it was a complete backup...
thanks
