I really don’t understand how Trac works, else I would have made a ticket…

But in the admin.php file, on line 41, it should say “Update” instead of “Updater”.

I haven’t had the oppertunity to see it in action yet, but I really have been looking for a plugin with just this feature. I hope it won’t let me down.

Thanks for that, I’ve fixed it for the next release.

Please let me know if you run into any problems, or have any other comments – this is a bit of an experiment, so feedback is always welcome!

It just ran after I installed two outdated plugins and an outdated theme. Worked like a charm; had the maintenance notice on the site and got an email.

One thing about the email markup; it showed at the end of every line instead of “…” and it gives “<span class=”code”>” and “</span>” before and after the url.

That’s a bit weird – it’s doing text-only emails, so I’m not sure how markup got in there.

Could you post a screenshot of the email? If you’re able to grab the email source from your client, can you also put it on http://pastebin.com/ and post the link?

http://pastebin.com/rq8bA89a for the plugins’ email source.
http://pastebin.com/Q2DZzSEz for the theme’s email source.

    http://tieptoep.nl/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/updater_mail.png for the email screenshot.

Even though I uploaded the outdated plugins and theme simultaneously, it didn’t upgrade them at the same time… I got seperate emails for them and on the Dashboard pages I saw that it prioritized the plugins’ updates and updated the theme afterwards.

Oh, I see. Thank you for clarifying that, I’ll make the debug information a bit nicer to read.

It does update plugins and themes separately, to try and avoid any potential clashes during upgrade. This is the same as how WordPress behaves on the Updates page – you can’t update your plugins and your themes at the same time.

Ok, I’m glad that I could be of help with testing. 🙂
I’m very pleased by how it ran the updates, you’ve really made a great plugin!

I wonder how it’ll handle updating to the next core beta though. I’m running Westi’s WP Beta Tester plugin. I’ll keep you posted on how it performs with core updates.

Glad to hear you like it! I’ll run some tests with the Beta Tester plugin and see how it goes – let me know if you run into any problems, of course. 🙂
