I am the super admin on my own site. I am running WP 3.4.2 with the up-to-date Auto Chimp plugin. Every time I create a new user, I get 2 emails (a few mins apart) asking me to confirm my subscription to the mailing list.
They are sent to the address that I used when I set up the MailChimp account, not the email address of the new users (I am not trying to sign up these users for the mailing list, just create a new user).
Anybody have any idea what is going on?

Nope, never learned anything more about it...truth be told, it just slipped my mind with all the other things I have going on.

Nope, my solution was not to use it.
I don't mean that lightly either. I use JetPack which has 'subscribe to this blog' functions and as much as I like mailchimp I am too busy to dedicate time to formatting posts into email newsletters, I'd rather my 'subscribers' just get notified of my new posts.
