Did anyone ever get an answer to this question?
I’m looking for this answer as well.
Believe it or not, if you go ahead and send a post to a live list instead of a test list, all the info does appear. I am not sure what the difference is, but once I tried doing it, it worked fine.
You will have the opportunity to cancel the distribution before it is emailed. Give it a shot.
I have been trying this with a test list with only one subscriber in it (me) and I do have all the info, except a link to the actual post. I’ve added a link to the website now, but would love to have the title linked up along with the read more […] snippet as well.
My results were the same until I started sending the posts to a live list with multiple subscribers. I now get links to the articles. Here is an example of what I get.
ADHD takes a toll well into adulthood
… The study by Boston Children’s Hospital and Mayo Clinic has revealed that ADHD doesn’t just “go away” but in fact, follows children into adulthood. Children with ADHD are more likely to have additional psychiatric disorders as adults. They also appear more likely to commit suicide and are often incarcerated as adults…..

Yes, I saw you connected from the Edmonton, CA area via Shaw Cable. At least the link worked. My hosting server is dreadfully slow today. Bluehost sucks.
I added a couple of my other emails bringing the list to three and unfortunately, still no links to the actual post. I can see how it works in your example, but oddly, nothing for me.
So there wasn’t any extra code you needed to add or a setting I’m missing somewhere?
Try creating an entirely new list, do not name it test. Also, have you modified your custom template per the autochimp instructions?
I have modified the template so it does include the post title and a brief snippet of the content. The entire template has been customized and is 98% perfect. It’s just down to getting this linking working.
I’ll try and create a new list and see what happens.
Thanks for your time by the way. It’s greatly appreciated.
Oh one more thing (it has been a while since I figured this out and my mind…. well let’s skip that) In the edit post page in wordpress, under the article, you should have an “Excerpt” box, paste your article excerpt in there, I seem to remember that made a difference.
Creating a new list didn’t change anything.
I currently don’t have the excerpt box, but if that’s the difference, I’ll add it back! My client didn’t need it so I removed it. I’ll give that a try then and report back.
I seem to remember the excerpt box as being integral.
Just sent it out with the excerpt included along with a link in there. If this works, then I’ll just add it to the functions.php file.
My fingers are crossed.
