   First off, thanks for this great plugin, should be part of wordpress core (IMO).

   Secondly, it'd be neat to have an option to set a default thumbnail for posts without one. Currently I'm doing this programatically, which is fine, but I think it would be a neat feature.

   I agree.

   Another idea is to auto-select image for thumbnail from Media Library. Selection be based on tag or title keywords.

   I second that ..
   a default image is mandatory for posts without images ..
