   The Read more text does not link, it's just plane text. No image displays when set to display image. In other words, it doesn't work!

   I use Twenty Eleven, zeeSynergie theme and No image displays , too.

   I just happened to use this just recently, and it did work for me.

   J0SiE, thank you for your response. Sorry, I just moved on and didn't come back to check on this. (I happened to catch it now because of the recent response.

   As for images displaying, as far as I know, WordPress does not automatically display images of excerpts. For that you need another plugin such as Thumbnail For Excerpts.
