[Plugin: Audio Player] Conflict with Podcasting plugin (8 posts)

    There appears to be a conflict between Audio Player and the Podcasting plugin. This is likely because both plugins use the same audio player script. I have installed Audio Player, and it plays files properly, but changing the Display options has no effect unless I disable the Podcasting plugin. This means that I am stuck with the default colors for the Audio Player.

    I am using the Podcasting plugin for a video podcast, while also attempting to use the Audio Player plugin to display sound files in some other posts which are not part of the podcast.

    Yes, I am aware of this problem. I tend to say this is an issue with the Podcasting plugin. You should contact its developer.

    I am having the same issue as above. I was using the Audio Player plugin and it worked fine until I started using the Podcasting Plugin. I didn't even notice my old audio files weren't playing until a few days ago.

    I have tried to post this issue on the podcasting forum with no luck. I am getting FILE NOT FOUND error message when trying to play files that use the [Audio] enclosure.

    Is there anything else I can try to get this working?

    Thanks for your help.

    Here is a link to a page that used to work before Podcasting was installed: DMb

    And this link used to work as well and now when viewing the post there are 3 different versions of the audio player when there should only be one. One says FILE NOT FOUND, the other plays fine, and the last says BUFFERING If I go to edit the post via wp-admin I see that the Podcasting plugin seems to have done something weird and now has information in the Podcasting Fields as well as the Custom Fields. Check it out: here

    I checked your site and all seems OK now. Did you fix the issue.

    I can't do much about the conflict with the Podcasting plugin. The Podcasting plugin should check whether Audio Player is also installed and use it instead of the bundled player.

    Just curious, why is it an issue with the Podcasting plugin (which, the developer for that isn't responding to queries it seems)? It was working just fine before your update, so...

    @kristapley

    The Podcasting plugin developer decided to bundle a beta version of Audio Player before I released version 2. If you have both versions installed, they will conflict. Making Audio Player play nice with other older versions is difficult and hacky. The old version was very different so it didn't conflict with the Podcasting plugin. I know it sounds like I'm simply offloading responsibility onto another developer but it is a reasonable decision. As a developer, if you decide to use somebody elses code, you should make sure it plays nice with other plugins. My plugin isn't interfering with Podcasting, it's the other way round.

    I appreciate your frustration but unfortunately I don't have the free time to work on issues like this. Actually, I currently don't have time to work on Audio Player at all.
