I installed the audio plugin and made sure the header and footer files call the appropriate functions.

    When add:

    [audio http://localhost/mydomain/content/audio/mymp3.mp3

All that is displayed is the text above.

    Any help apprecaited.

    Rob

I've been trying to get it to work, too. Same problem. Brackets closed, path checked, spelling checked...no success.

well, first general question, does your theme have the proper calls in the header and footer?

    as seen here: http://wpaudioplayer.com/support/troubleshooting

Also, the OP's code is missing the colon
    [audio:http://localhost/mydomain/content/audio/mymp3.mp3]

I added the calls to my header and footer and it freezes my browser. It still displayed as text before I previewed it (and crashed the browser).

It turns out that my theme already had the calls in it, albeit in a different location from where I thought it would be. I've since removed the additional calls that I put in manually.

I'm using WPAudio (http://wpaudioplayer.com/) and it is working now. The link text shows up, and then a few seconds later it redraws as the player. Not sure why, but it works for me now.

Also, not only is OP missing the colon, the closing bracket is missing as well. May just be accidentally not included in a copy and paste, may be user error...
