I am also receiving the error “SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.” in the actual page, although the appointment does appear to book.
Hi aphrael6,
Error: “SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.”
This error will come, when we put/saved wrong gmail login credential in Appointment Calendar dashboard.
Hi Frank,
I have tried multiple email addresses, all of which I am quite confident of the password for. Thank you for looking into this — I will keep trying..
Hi, the plugin is exactly what I am looking for but cannot get the smtp to work, I get thise error:
SMTP Error: Could not authenticate. SMTP Error: Could not authenticate).
I’ve tried 3 different emails, I know the password is correct and I’ce copied the settings from the webhost.
Is it a compabiity issue with wp 3.32? And most of all – does it have to be gmail?
When I check the dashboard the booking is there, but I don’t receive any email alert that a booking has been made, and when trying to make a booking I don’t receive any confirmation.
Alos, is there anyway the block out sundays?
Thank you
Hi 96320,
In current version, you can add holidays manually by calculating sunday date.
Admin-Dashboard→Event Management→Add An Event
In our next version we will add this feature.
SMTP Error: Could not authenticate. SMTP Error: Could not authenticate).
Reason: You saved wrong Gmail login credential in Email-Settings.
If you have Gmail account then save these settings:
Host Name : smtp.gmail.com
Port Number : 465
E-mail : Your Correct Gmail Email
Password : Your Correct Gmail Password
Then save and try by booking a demo appointment.
Thanks…
Thank you for your very quick reply! I have however tried this so many times with my correct gmail address and credentials!
I have also tried with 2 other email addresses. Could it be something with the web host?
Does it have to be gmail? The booking is not for me but for my client, so preferebly the booking should go to their business email..
Thansk again.
Hi 969320,
Something wrong with your web-host, may be it not allowed smtp communication.
OK, Try Yahoo-Mail settings once more
Host Name : smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port Number : 465
E-mail : Your Correct Yahoo Email
Password : Your Correct Yahoo Password
Thanks again. I will look into it. Does this mean that it only works with gmail and yahoo?
Still don’t get the smtp to work. I also noticed that you can book passed dates and blocked out events. The email notification deosn’t work either (works with outher plugins though), but I can see the bookings in the dashboard. I have re-installed the plugin but didn’t make any difference.
Does any one else have all these issues or is it my theme, my server, version of wp etc that is causing the plugin to fail? I would reaaaaaally love it to work as it is just what Im after!
Please help! Thank you
Bump. Having the same problem. It is certainly not an authentication issue.
SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.
I have the same issue
SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.
Can’t figure out what is the problem:(
@ jstirling and @elvira_m
Could you confirm if the smtp is enabled on your server?
