[resolved] This plugin forced me to turn off the server! (6 posts)

I use wordpress for many years and have installed and tested a multitude of plugins.

Yesterday for the first time a plugin forced me to shut down the entire server: the plugin is AWPCP

After you have installed and started the automatic procedure for creation of pages ... the server has become unreachable. It was not possible to do anything.

In order to solve the problem, I had to:
    1. Shut down the Apache server
    2. Restart the server
    3. Clean the database from any table and reference to AWPCP
    4. Disable and delete the plugin

I am really disappointed and angry.

    Hi thexman,

I am very sorry that AWPCP caused this. I believe it may be related to collation type and the database. It seems to be inconsistent among users and I have struggled to get good information from people about it because folks are angry and they shut down instead of opening up to let me help by asking for info.

If you would please visit the main support forum, register there so I can contact you when the patch is available, I would welcome your voice there.

http://forum.awpcp.com (there is an open thread about this about "Maximum execution time exceeded", if you would add your info there, that would be most awesome!)

The last stable version of the plugin was 1.8.8.1, which you can download here and use immediately. I am working on addressing bugs in the plugin as quickly as I can.
