   WordPress Version Check v1.00 is now available.

   WordPress version check provides you with highly visible in dashboard notification of new WordPress releases and has an optional facility to allow you to be sent an email each time the update message changes (For more info see: http://blog.ftwr.co.uk/archives/2005/07/27/wordpress-version-check-v090/).

   The follow changes have been made in v1.00:
   1. Added support for WordPress v2.0-RC1
   2. Added timeout to XML-RPC calls.

   IMHO, this should be a CORE feature and not a plugin.

   I agree Ryan.

   I believe it will make it into the core.

   It is currently in the roadmap for the next version after 2.0 with a patch sitting waiting in trac.

   I woudl love to see this built in. Its a good plugin.
