[Plugin: All in One SEO Pack] Blog Title and Tagline confusion (5 posts)

I'd like to know if I'm using the correct settings for the All in One SEO Pack plug in, in conjunction with the WP "General Settings" regarding the Header and Tagline. Or if what I'm doing is correct.

    Issue 1 - proper settings:
The SEO plugin has the "Home Title" and "Home Description" to fill in. The WP "General Settings" have the "Blog Title" and "Tagline" to fill in. When using the SEO plugin, are ALL of these settings supposed to be filled in? If so, can the SEO plugin "Home Desciption" have more descriptive and more keywords, or does it have to be exactly the same as the"Tagline" in the WP "General Settings"? Or are the Blog Title and Tagline in the General Settings supposed to be left blank if using the SEO plugin?

Issue 2 - using and image as the Blog Title (and perhaps tagline):
I'm using an image file in the header for the Blog Title, and I may or may not also include the Tagline (or subtitle) in the header image. The image is NOT the header background in the style.css but IS an image put in the header.php, much like a banner but instead it's the blog logo/title and perhaps tagline. I filled out both the WP General Settings' "Blog Title" and "Tagline," AND the SEO plugin settings' "Home Title" and "Home Description." I expected that I would have to leave the "Blog Title" and "Tagline" blank or it would be superimposed on the image, but I only see the image, interestingly. Should I leave it like this, or is this not correct, or is it not safe in case some browser somewhere might shift things so the filled in Blog Title and Tagline might show outside of the image or something?

Your input would be most appreciated.

I forgot to add (or remember) that I deleted the header info in the header.php, and replaced it with the image, which I figure is why the Blog Title and Tagline didn't show. Is this OK to do, and if so, should I still have the Blog Title and Tagline filled in under The General Settings in WP?

    Hey Ta,

I think you might have better luck regarding these questions if you post at the Semper Fi Forum (developers of All in One SEO): http://semperfiwebdesign.com/forum/

I saw that one of the lead developers has said that he will mostly be utilizing that forum from now on.

As for your questions, I don't have a lot of technical background, but in Terms of Issue 2, I am also using a company logo (http://thetruthinc.com) in my header, but you will notice that whatever you type in the "Blog Title" section of WP's General Settings will become the title that is listed at the very top of the web browser when you visit your homepage, so I'm fairly certain that it is still relevant to include this information (because that's the information that search engine's should see...along with any info that you type into the All in One SEO Pack regarding your title...what I'm not certain about, is whether both titles should be identical, or whether one of these titles takes precedent when being shown in search results...I'm guessing the All in One SEO title would be the one that shows up in results? This is similar to one of the questions I asked over on the Semper Fi forums...
