All-in-One Event Calendar
[resolved] Automatical publish an new event as post (blog-index) (9 posts)

    Hello!

    Often, when I create a "big" event, I copy&caste the text of the event additional into a new post, so that this event is shown in my normal blog-index (on my frontpage).

    I would like to avoid these "non-elegant" duplicate data .... is there any possibility, to publish an event also as a blog-post?

    I seem to have got this to work. I put this code in index.php (where i want ALL posts to display) for my theme directly under <div id="content" role="main">:

    <?php
    // set the $paged variable
        $paged = (get_query_var('paged')) ? get_query_var('paged') : 1;

    // query the posts of your custom post types
        query_posts( array(
            'post_type' => array(
            'post',
    	'ai1ec_event'
        ),
        'paged' => $paged ) // for paging links to work
    );?>

    And I got the info from here:

    This is not currently a feature of the ai1ec, however that's a nice workaround Josh-TWC.

    This suggestion will be added to our "New Feature Suggestion" list.

    Thanks for the reply.

    It would be nice, to have an additional checkbox on every event-page, like:

    [ ] Publish this event as post

    Would be very nice :)

    I'm trying to get this to work, but no luck- the only thing it seems to do is "break" my category-specific filter, so all posts show instead of just the filtered category. I tried removing the category filter, and still the same issue- only posts show, no events.

    Is there anything you can think of, that an inexperienced coder-lurker might not realize? I think I'm editing it correctly...but nothing's working :(

    Any news on this being integrated officially, Richard? Would be great!

    yahodahan, If I understand you correctly, when you are displaying posts by category all posts are showing? Is this on your 'Home' or 'blog' page? Maybe a little more info would be helpful such as what page you are trying to edit and what page you are trying to view. and maybe a link?

    @yahodahan - unfortunately I think this is not close to the top of the list of new feature priorities, however if it is urgent it may be possible for our web development team to do this as a paid customization. Please email help@time.ly for a quote. Please be sure to link to this page / give us much info as possible.

    @Josh-TWC - thank you for your assistance helping fellow Ai1EC users.
