I suddenly began receiving this error message on my widgets page:
Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in /home/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/Layout2.0/core/widgets.php on line 16
I disabled all my recently installed plugins, and Askimet is the culprit. I don't know why this is happening, but I have to disable Askimet until this is resolved.

I haven't been able to reproduce this error using the default twenty-ten theme that comes with WordPress. Can you try it with the twenty-ten theme and see if you still get the error. Based on the error message that you included in looks like this is related your theme, Layout2.0.
I am using a customized layout, however of the 20+ plugins I've used or am using on my site, Akismet is the only one that has ever produced any error.
Perhaps if you let me know what the error means I can look within my template to see if it is something I can fix?
It is trying to use a scalar value (like a string or number) as an array, which won't work.
