With several of the other popular free Cal/Events plugins badly broken, this one was an easy choice. The styling is terrific out of the box, and data entry is quick and clear (some developers have entry boxes from the DOS era!)

. . and there's only 2 items on the wishlist!
    1. Some way to set up filter by City (or other attribute) - partly because site-search events listings doesn't cater for this.
    2. Big ask - for listings to show up in a standard site search.
    I found visitors expect this.

(Other plugins handle this because each event is a post.)

Must agree ... am pretty impressed with this plugin. And, believe me, I've tried ALL of them. It's pretty much my standard calendar tool for a single site.

I wish this worked in a multisite environment, though. I'm still searching for a good one under that environment ....

Calendar plugins are like RSS Feed Importer plugins - there isn't ONE that handles everything really well - and allows search. (RSS Digest comes close)

Events Manager does most things - but has so many settings that a client can tinker with and screw everything up.

To solve the lack of search facility in AEC, we gathered all the listings and pasted them into a single page or post, which of course does reveal contents in a site search, and can be scrolled quickly.

As the client only has about 40 events showing, this kludge worked well enough. For large numbers, it's not viable, but it was worth doing just to get the snazzy styling and small footprint.

Don't know if Eran (developer) realises he has a commercial winner - there are no paid plugins out there as good.
We'd be happy to pay $30 for a commercial version with search facility, but I suspect it's technically not doable.
