Is the a way to not show the top level menu items just the sub level items to the top level item.

No, this is not possible. Maybe I will add it in a later release.

Posted 1 year ago #I would be curious as to whether this will be updated to support this. I am using the new custom menu feature and in need of a separate child menu for sub pages. The Advanced Menu Widget is great but having the ability to have a starting depth would be super huge and one ups what WP has done.
There does not seem to be any documentation or supporting sites for the wp_nav_menu to do a split parent and child menu.
An example of what I am having trouble with is figuring out how to do a parent horizontal menu and a vertical child menu based on the parent that was selected.
