How to export by date range in WP 3.0? (4 posts)

I am using the latest version of WP3.

You said "The functionality in this plugin was incorporated into the built in export feature in WordPress 3.0", but I can't find any place I can select the date range to export.

My XML export is over 40M, so I want to split it and so I can able to import into WP.com (15M max).

As you are expert in WP backup, can you suggest what should I do?

    Thanks.

    There is no WP3. The major WP versions are 1.0, 1.1, ... 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3. When I said 3.0 in the readme I meant version 3.0 not 3.X. 3.0 was released on June 17, 2010.

Version 3.3 does not have the date range selector. However, it will export by category, tag, etc. If the only way you can reasonably do it is by date then use the Advanced Export plugin to do it.

    Thanks.

I downloaded Advanced Export plugin and found out that the description is not true - ""The functionality in this plugin was incorporated into the built in export feature in WordPress 3.0""

Only the Advanced Export allow you to export all contents by selecting date range. In WP 3.3, you can only select date range when you select to export POST/PAGE, but not all content.

    Thanks anyway.

Unfortunately, it is true. The changeset where it was added was http://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/13573 on ticket http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/10317.

The Reported by: in the ticket header is the person who created the ticket (you may recognize the avatar). The Author: on the changeset is the person who committed the change to WP trunk.

The fact that it is no longer there doesn't mean it was never there.
