A user changed my Admin role to editor - now what?
My Super Admin privileges are now gone, I have been demoted to "Editor" when I should be "Terminator" (aka Super Admin).
What is the smart thing to do?

My bad... I ran a back-up on the DB a little while ago to recover and reinstall AAM. [nice job!] The user log is empty now.

I have three plugins active 1)Random Text (greg jackson) 2)WordPress Importer 3)Advanced Access Manager.

    site

I edited the EDITOR role, allowing an EDITOR to PROMOTE USERS... and then my ADMIN role showed in their USER list. I got demoted to editor. Not a big deal I was both ADMIN and EDITOR; I DID use two different browsers (explorer and firefox) to avoid cookie conflicts.

    hope this helps.

Thanks for explanation. I'll try to reproduce this situation and find that can be wrong. Maybe WordPress handling promote users in different way and it cause issue.

    Appreciate your feedback.

    Hi Vasyl,

I am also having the issue described above. I am the super admin and have created an editor. I have restricted access to "promote users" for this editor but the editor can see my user in users > all users and from my user profile page can select and change my role from "administrator" to any other role and lock me out of AAM. This has happened.

I have checked for error logs but there are none.

Can you help? How can I hide the super admin from all other users or at least restrict their edit access to that user?

    Thanks in advance :)
