I absolutely love this plugin. It’s great.

I am having a problem since the upgrade to 1.4.3. Upon activation I create roles, set capabilities, and log off of WordPress. When I return, it’s almost as if the plug-in disappear. There is no link in the admin menu. The newly created roles have disappeared. Their is no trace of the plugin except that it is listed as activated under installed plug-ins. I have to deactivate and reactivate to get it back up, and there is no saved data. Any thoughts?

This is happening on both WP 3.2.1 and 3.3. I’ve tried uninstall/reinstall and the same thing happens.

  • Hi Bapusfsp,
This is because you do not understand the behavior.
First thing is that Advanced Access Manager is available only for Super Admin by default. Super Admin Role creates first time you enter an Access Manager Page (If you didn’t have a red message this error, it showed you a long message with notice that Super Admin Role will be created for you).
If you want to give ability for other roles to access Access Manager you have to create a capability AAM Manage (as it is mentioned in FAQ).
Second thing is that after deactivation of a plugin it automatically clean up all settings from database. My logic is simple, if you deactivated Advanced Access Manager, it means you don’t need it anymore, so there is no reason to have junk in database.
For that reason I created import/export settings feature.

Thank you! I did read the FAQ but I guess I didn’t understand that the answer was right in front of me. 🙁 I appreciate your helpfulness.

I’m pretty sure I’m just being blind at the moment, but I’m having a hard time finding how to export my settings. Can you point me in the right direction?

I made a new site, and want to duplicate the settings over to the new one. Thanks!

    Hi son0fhobs
Near the Save button there are few icons. On of them is import and second export configs.
    Use them to do that.
And please notice that I’m going to exclude theses features in next releases. Instead of I’m introducing Access Config.

    Regards,
    Vasyl
