I am trying to set a group in the menu, that has a single item for a plugin.
So I created a new menu and added the settings item as an item in this group.
I set ‘manage options’ as permissions.

The problem I have is: the menu shows, even if the plugin is disabled (for some of them, not all…).
I tried replace the default new menu URL with the one of the plugin (for ex: ‘wpdbsc_plugin_options’) but it still shows when the plugin is disabled.

    Any clue?

I very much use this plugin, love it.

That’s probably a bug. The free version of Admin Menu Editor has a few known issues where plugin menus that have been moved to a different submenu won’t work properly. This has been fixed in the Pro version.

A possible workaround: Try replacing the menu URL with the *full* admin page URL, e.g. “http://example.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=xyz”.

    Thanks Janis for the suggestion…
    But the problem remains.
If I put the full URL, the system does not have a way to know that the plugin is disabled I guess.

Well, it probably is due to the bug in the free version then. It’s not very good at figuring out what admin page a moved menu/a menu with a modified URL corresponds to, so it can’t tell that the page is no longer there.

    Probably…

There is something to be noted here:
    – submenus DO figure out if the page is not accessible to a user (for the permissions are too low, or the plugoi is disbaled) and hides it
    – but menus do not
    A pity.
