Sadly, ie8 is the browser used by most of our users.
We see an error in the page.js script ... (no problems in Firefox/Safari...)
Object doesn't support this property or method
page.js
character 3224
It looks like the 'getElementsByClassName' DOM function is being called... but that is unsupported in ie8.
Not sure if this is exclusively an AddtoAny issue or an interaction with something else. Has this been seen before?

Yep, you're right. Thanks for reporting. It was indeed a conflict with the Prototype JavaScript library, and any other library that attempts to apply its own getElementsByClassName as a core function. Fortunately it's fixed now, and everyone's enjoying the recent speed gains. :)

I am seeing errors in validation (javascript) in Firebug (for Firefox). Could something else have possibly changed in the meantime again, that is causing this? Also, noticing a HUGE lag time, it's increasing my site's loading times by anywhere from 2-10 seconds (and anywhere in between).

Love the plugin, but I don't love:
* inline script/css
* extra loading time it adds to my site
* validation errors
But I can't not use it!! :)
Hi kmedhus,
FYI your website wasn't responsive a little while ago. It wasn't a plugin, but probably a temporarily slow server.
Right now it appears you don't have AddToAny activated. If you reactivate we'd be happy to take a look.
Re:
* Inline CSS: an upcoming version will offer a toggle feature so you can include it in your theme without the inline CSS. Original goal was to save an extra HTTP request
* Load time: static.addtoany.com is cached, minified and served from a world-class CDN, so you shouldn't have any issues. The plugin is also optimized to load the external call after *after* your content loads.
* Validation: The plugin generates 100% W3C valid XHTML. If you're concerned about CSS, please see http://wordpress.org/support/topic/264886
Cheers!

Add to Any: Share/Bookmark/Email Button - Still getting the "error on page" with IE8. In other words, it's like you programmed that a pic should be displayed on your website, but you forgot to put that pic in that folder. The browser then notices, "object expected"; but that object isn't there. Next, the browser releases an error on page notice.
Could be that the time to connect with the add-to-any server is too long?
@rainer23 sounds like a different problem as it's working in IE8 on the original poster's blog.
Can you provide a link to your site? Is your IE language set to another locale (not "en-US")?

With IE8 I'm not getting an error on page at http://israel-booking.net/test/?p=114
@thepark not seeing any sort of error in IE6-8. Can you copy and paste the error you're seeing?
Well, I'm getting "Done but with error on page" message on the bottom bar of the explorer, when I click it I'm getting:
Line: 2
Char: 11720
Error: Expected Identifier
Code:0
URL: http://israel-booking.net/test/?p=114
Thanks
Guy
