[RFE] auto-pagination of ads ? (3 posts)

    hi there,

thanks for the latest update - I actually noticed the issue related to too many ads per page, but I figured it'd be specific to my install - so thank you very much for fixing it!

    Here's my suggestion:

Given the rather "excessive" set of features already supported by ad-injection, I was wondering if you could add a checkbox that allows automated-pagination of posts?

Your plugin is already internally using all sorts of related settings (i.e. words before ads, paragraph size etc). So it seems your plugin could just as well provide an option to automatically paginate postings using the same set of rules?

While auto-paginations seems to be somewhat controversial, it is also pretty popular:

    What do you think?

    Thanks

PS: Obviously, your plugin is very comprehensive and powerful - but its set of features and configuration possibilities can be rather overwhelming, I would suggest to make more use of logically grouped "tabs" for categorizing the settings, possibly using a wizard-based order, so that it is easier for new users to set up everything.

Hi woccax - thanks for your comments and ideas.

Ad Injection is starting to get a bit complicated and I would like to make it simpler. It will however probably get more options though before that happens!

At some point in the future I will probably add an option that allows you to specify the gap between random ads. This may allow you to achieve what you want by setting the gap to your desired page length, and then putting the paginate tag into the random ad box.

The last link you posted was a WordPress plugin for doing this. Does it now work? Or does it not do the job as well as you'd like?

Actually, I was specifically looking into your plugin because it seems to be more in line with my requirements: this is mostly because I'd like to automatically paginate existing posts (archived), rather than automatically paginating new or edited posts.

So, given that Ad Injector will obviously do content/post parsing to do its job, it could just as well add pagination tags in the right places (optionally), just like you said.

    All the best,
