Brand new to WordPress.org...
I've tried to activate several plugins after manually copying the files onto my server and they always say "Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error."
This is the third time it's happened. Am I copying them wrong? Whenever I can upload a zip file of the plugin and unzip it in my server, they're fine... but when I copy them manually they get errors.
WHat does it mean "copy manually"? How do you do that? We usually say that we upload a plugin (and any other files) via FTP.
What I always do:
- download
- unzip
- read the README
- upload via FTP (what is instructed)
- activate

I'm having this issue as well. I have attempted to activate three different plugins that give me this same message. "plugin could not be activated because it created a fatal error"
They are:
"now reading"
"wp-postrating"
"post star rating"
All other plugins I've activated since upgrading to WP2.2 have worked without a hitch.
