To view the A to Z Template within Page Attributes > Template, you need to move the file atoz-template.php from the plugin folder a-to-z-category-listing to your theme folder. Have you followed this step?
We have tested this plugin and it is working on WordPress 3.1.1 and 3.1.2.
yes , that works.
maybe mention that in the setup install instructions??
I know it’s a stupid question but my tech skills are limited. How do you move the file from the plugin folder to a-to-z-category-listing to my theme folder? Please explain in laymen terms. Thanks!
First, thanks for the plugin. I have been looking for something like this all day. However, to does not appear to be working with 3.2.1. I tried moving the php file to my theme folder and still know results. I look forward to updates. Thanks.
Hello kellyecarter,
To move the file from plugin folder to theme folder first you need to have FTP access, and then follow the steps:
1. download the plugin in your local machine and unzip it.
2. Within the unzip folder ‘a-to-z-category-listing’ you will find the page ‘atoz-template.php’
3. Login through FTP and upload that file in the folder wp-content/themes/your_theme_folder/.
Hello fectio1,
We have tested the plugin with WordPress 3.2.1 and we did not find any problem.
To make this plugin work you need to follow this steps:
1. create some categories,
2. Add some posts under these categories.
3. Install and activate the plugin A to Z category listing.
4. copy the template file ‘atoz-template.php’ from plugin folder to theme folder.
5. set the option for this plugin from Tools >> A to Z Listing.
6. create a page and set the template A to Z category template fot that page.
Did you follow all the steps?
Hi Shivaji,
Thanks for the detailed instructions. That worked. Unfortunately now that I used the AtoZ template on a page, that page is completely screwed up. My menu bar went from underneath the banner to vertical on the left side of the page. The A to Z tab is hidden behind my banner.
Are you sure this works with 3.2.1?
Please look at http://thejetsetpets.com/airlines
Thank you,
Kelly
Hello Kelly: Yes, we tested in a clean install of wordpress3.2.1 and it works nicely.
Hi Shivaji,
I can live with my menu now being on the left side for that page (it’s actually kind of cool in blue) but I cannot live with the A to Z tabs being 90% behind my banner and the “return to the top of page” section of my footer being out of focus. How do I correct that please?
Thank you for your patience with me!!!
Kelly
