6Scan Security
Warnings persist after manual fix (8 posts)

I've effected the recommended manual fixes for "WordPress 3.4 comment posting forgery" and "WordPress up to 3.4 Usernames enumeration." 6Scan vulnerability warnings are still there for each, including the large horizontal bar telling me I have 2 unfixed vulnerabilities across the top of every WordPress screen. Does this mean my manual fixes didn't work, or is there a way to make these warnings go away?

+1 Same problem. Still indicates I have 3 issues even though I have manually fixed them.

Is this still an issue for you two? If so, are either of you using another security tool which might be blocking 6Scans ability to scan your site and detect the change? For example, I saw that "Better Wp Security" had detected 6scans attempt to scan a site and then block it due to too many 404 errors.

If it's resolved, please post how.

No change for me with respect to the vulnerability warnings. I did see how to dismiss the horizontal bar across every screen, so that's no longer a annoyance. I don't believe I want to post an accounting of the other security tools I'm using, but I'll deactivate them for 24 hours and see if the 6Scan warnings go away.

That's kind of funny because I installed it on site 1 since I got hacked. After install it gave a warning message and recommended a fix for SEO friendly images.

Then before installing on site 2, I fixed it - still got the error

    Same for my other sites.

    So that makes me wonder.

The good news is that the security works well and I was immediately alerted about a login attempt

Any update on this KurtF? I'm curious to know if the 24 hour deactivation of your other security tools helped the issue.

Deactivating all my security tools for 24 hours had no affect on the 6Scan security warnings... they're still there.
