I have seen a lot of posts with people having difficulties uploading plug-ins properly.
Here is my problem:
My plug-ins/widgets show up on the Dashboard like they are successfully loaded and activated and the I can edit it in the dashboard. Everything seems a-okay. But then it doesn't show up on the site.
See here - http://www.michellesmassagetherapy.net/wordpress
There is supposed to be a Social Media widget (and I have tried many, many others as well) They are not showing up on my site despite my Dashboard's claims otherwise.
I am wondering if it might be one of these problems:
- When I enter in my Connection Information (Hostname, FTP, Connection Type) in order to upload a plug-in, and then click proceed, it goes to a blank screen even though it does appear to have loaded. Is that bad?
- Sometimes I have to drop folders into the FTP server through Filezilla or Dreamweaver because of the permissions from my web host (GoDaddy). I can't use the Editor in the Dashboard because of the permissions settings from my web host, which I can't seem to change.
They want to charge extra (on top of the hosting!) to install WordPress. (wtf, right?) I just manually installed it and I did not think there would be a aproblem with that, but maybe they are blocking it as to make me pay extra?
Arg.
Help would be much appreciated!
Thanks.
