[resolved] Plug-in breaks OpenX ad links on IE (5 posts)

Found out today that OpenX served ads on our http://albertaventure.com sites would go to the ad image rather than the actual link on IE. Was not a problem with OpenX ads on our other sites. When I turned off the Google Analytics Suites plug-in, the ad link issue was no longer a problem.

Note that this was with IE 7 and 8, but not on any other browser I tested (Firefox Mac & Windows, Chrome Mac & Windows, etc.).

With IE7 having less then 1% of the market share globally now a days (see http://thenextweb.com/insider/2013/06/01/ie10-blows-past-ie7-and-ie6s-combined-market-share-firefox-gains-too-but-chrome-hits-21-month-low/) , we don't consider compatibility with IE7 worth the time the time it takes.

I had the same issue with href image links to url in Explorer 7 & 8. All image links were redirecting to source image instead of URL. Only way to fix was deactivate Google Analytics Suite.

Is there another possible solution within the Google Analytics Suite settings that may be causing the error. This is a great plugin and I don't want to exclude it from my site.

I can sympathise with the IE7 decision; I'd rather not deal with IE period. Unfortunately, due to IT policy, a large portion our clients appear to be stuck in the 20th century.

Just as a note, we've primarily been testing on IE 8.
