   2. I would like to assign multiple categories to single events. Like "city" and "subject" to a seminar. Anyone know if that is possible? Are there any other calendars where I can do this.

   This plugin supports only one category per event, what you're looking for is not feasible with the current functionality. It may be possible with other calendars, but I can't offer any suggestions.
