   Dear WordPress Powers that Be:

   I have a policy of not immediately applying new updates but instead wait a few weeks to see if any bugs appear. Indeed this policy has worked well in the recent history of the 2.8.x updates.

   Also, I love the feature where wordpress announces that an update is available at the top of the dashboard page.

   What I propose is that you supply a date that the update was made available. Eg "WordPress v2.8.4 is available as of 8/06/09".

   I guess but they do update about stable release..Still your point is quit correct.

   Thanks for pointing out to me where the info I need is... (and I really do mean that) but you're missing my point. In the "bad old days" I could just as well go to the codex to also find the update yet you've provided this handy feature on the dashboard to tell me updates are available.
