  • Very nice! Hard to believe it’s your first… I like it alot for it’s clean look – nice color choices and everything. Beautiful work!

Thanks for the kind words, ladydelaluna. It certainly is not my fist website design (although I consider myself just a bit more advanced than a “beginner”), but it is my first attempt at a WordPress integration into one of my projects.

    Thanks again…

Well that’s what I meant, of course – hope you weren’t offended! I’ve just seen far too many people start off their trip down “wordpress customization lane” and hitting so many roadblocks that their end results just don’t look as clean and professional as what they would normally have accomplished in regular HTML/CSS. I think you did a fantastic job on your first WP custom theme and emphatically say, “Keep up the great work!” πŸ™‚

the first thing that i notice is that there is a horizontal scroll (and i run a particularly high resolution)!

other than that, i think it looks great!

It’s a fluid width, FTB – how are you getting a horizontal scroll?

FYI – my screen res is 1024 width and I’m not getting any horizontal scroll… I also tested it on 800×600 and still didn’t get it in either firefox OR ie.

Well, I’m running firefox 2.0.0.2 on a Windows XP SP2 machine. My screen resolution is 1280 x 1024, and when I view the site in either a tab, or no tab, there is a horizontal scroll (also, no matter what height and width I set the window to)!

Looks very good and seems to adjust very well to different font sizes.
I can not reproduce the above mentioned scrollbar problem here (1024*768 resolution, Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2).

Very odd… I still can’t reproduce it either. I’m on a WinXP SP2 machine in 1024 width or 800 width, both FF and IE… I’ve tried every which way and can’t get it to happen.

Even when I use the FF devtools plugin to just resize the window to 800×600, the text is just fluid and I still get no scrollbar…

Maybe it’s one of your FF plugins or something? Try it in IE and see if it happens…

Anyway – seems odd to me, that’s all. I still love the site!

I’ve tested in FF, IE and Opera. I get no scrollbar at any screen size whatsoever — very odd. I would be interested in anyone elses experience.

Also, ForgettheBull, can you show a screenshot of what you see when you scroll horizontally?

This screenshot shows what I see with FF 2.02 and IE 6.0 with the viewport sized to 800×600. No horizontal scroll. I cannot duplicate it on any browser, regardless of what size I make the screen and regardless of how large I size the text.

Sure, sorry for the late reply!

    Image 2 Link.

If I’m the only one who seems to have a problem, it’s probably not a big deal!

Wo! Super clean and very classy.
Great job for your 1st or 100th.
    Please release it.

Validates as XHTML 1.0 Strict too. I’m impressed.

FtB, I’m not seeing a scroll bar either….

Gosh, I am humbled. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Release this theme? Who the heck would want it except me?

I do try to validate all of my work XHTML Strict. It’s a good feeling when it works out that way.

I still remain confused about the scroll bar issue on one person’s machine — how could that be?
