BuddyPress 1.7 is coming very soon. If you are thinking of adding BuddyPress to your site and your current theme DOES NOT have BuddyPress compatibility then you might want to wait until BuddyPress 1.7.
BP 1.7 introduces WP theme compatibility. You will no longer need to use this plugin to get BuddyPress to work on a WP theme.
BuddyPress 1.7 will use your theme's page.php to display content. No more editing the the template files to match up to your theme's files. You will be able to switch themes without fear it will break your BuddyPress pages.
HUZZAH!

Yes, when is it coming out? :)
A beta is coming within a few weeks. You can use the trunk version now to test on a development install. http://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/trunk

This plugin is no longer needed to add BuddyPress. Test out the beta.
hi great news,
i am trying out 1.7beta but i still see:
The following active BuddyPress Components do not have associated WordPress Pages: Activity Streams, User Groups, Members.
i am a first time buddypress user, so is this correct? I thought 1.7beta would use my chosen theme?
You need to create pages for each component and assign them.
I have found some ajax based links do not work with buddypress 1.7beta and that this template pack is still needed. Hopefully the final 1.7 version will fix this.
1.7 final is not out. You should not use this plugin with 1.7. If you are testing the beta, post bugs on buddypress.org
I do realize that, no need to be condescending. Just trying to be informative. At least here you can get a response unlike the buddypress forums.
