    I have just started my site and have been trying to make is skinable using the tutorial at http://codegrrl.com and I have everything working great; then I try to edit my wp index file and, well...

    What I did was I put everything between the <head> tags from by index file and put it in my header files and then put this...

    <?php include ("/home/roxy04/public_html/cookiecheck.php");
    $headervar="/home/roxy04/public_html/nav/header"; $extension=".php";
    include($headervar.$skin.$extension);?>

    at the top of my index file to include whatever header the skin is set on...

    but I keep getting errors when I try to load index.php, the most recent one being...

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/roxy04/public_html/wp/index.php on line 43

    can anyone tell me, in lamens terms, what I need to do to make my wp skinable with the rest of me site.

    Thanks in advance...

    I haven't used that method of skinning since I quit using MT. Are there going to be other non-WP pages in your site?

    I use to skin my site using that tutorial! :) I managed to get it to work. What I did was have my wordpress in another folder and my main index php page I used php include to include the index of my wordpress file, my file was very simple html and codes in it. Worked like a charm as the header css made the included wordpress look how it should! :)
