Is anyone getting this same problem?

I am updating the stylesheets to a wordpress website but it's not updating them, I suddenly have to switch off my laptop and on again, open the browser site to see the changes. Refreshing doesn't work, deleting history, caches etc doesnt work.

Can anyone help? I need to get this site up and running today, its the deadline today.. :(

    Please can anyone help?

A little more information would help...

What browser(s) are you using? and does it appear on other browsers?
What is the hosting company that the website is hosted on?

My guess is this doesn't quite have anything to do with WordPress, unless you've already routed the problem down to WordPress itself.

All. Firefox, IE, Chrome, Opera and Safari, even tried Flock. All the same. I look in the wordpress admin the changes have been made, I then look at the site and no changes, using web developer toolbar and looking at the css through the browser, the css hasn't changed.

Ive had no problem yesterday or the months before.

I don't know the hosting company as im just a freelancer working on the site, but I have emailed the agency and asked them if theyre having problems. But I wouldnt think it would be that.

I think the problems could either be WordPress or the Server. Its just really strange, something iv'e never come across before. The changes have been made but theyre not updating. Very strange!

Have you tried enabling private browsing on your browser?

I've experienced something oddly similar when I worked on a website from the other side of the world. The ISP somehow "cached" the internet files; therefore, refreshing would not show me any changes.

Perhaps you're uploading the CSS in the wrong folder, or the hosting company is too slow to display changes and results. In most general cases the servers should be very responsive.

Are you using FileZilla to upload your files to the server? If not, I recommend maybe giving that a shot.

'cubecolour' That's a good idea and has worked. Ok so for some reason across all browsers just today, the stylesheets aren't getting updated, but if I enable private browsing so nothing is saved in cache, temp, history folders then it seems to work for now...

    Really strange!

Unfortunately in Opera when I click a menu item, it suddenly changes to uppercase, I click another and that does and the other stays uppercase. I think there is some twilight zone passing through my laptop.

    All the stylesheets are fine.

The folders are fine, but maybe the host is too slow.

Im using Coda and coding directly from the site. I have tried changing things locally and uploading them through Transmit. Im on a Mac but that doesn't explain the problems haha

Still having the same problem now with a video not working.

Have you contacted someone you know to check out the site and see if the video works? You may be able to figure out whether it's your ISP or the hosting server assuming they're in a different location.

Just a quick one relating to this. Is this normal for a stylesheet address:

    http://website.co.uk/wp-content/themes/website/style.css.pagespeed.ce.qbVx3g-uqd.css

? Whats with the .pagespeed.ce.qbVx3g-uqd.css? Is that normal?

Thanks. So im not the only one. Supposedly so the agency I work for has said it happens sometimes and then fixes itself.

But how could this happen. Very strange. Ok, Ill just deem this post as solved but unsolved at the same time. Maybe someone in the futre who has the same problem can view it and see that they are not alone.

    Thanks for the help everyone.
