Please Help – Site Hacked Password Changed by "Team Haxorsistz"

Hi there,

I apologize if I am posting in the wrong place, I am new to the site and new to building sites, so I really need some help and guidance as quickly as possible.

It’s the first time I have attempted to log into my WordPress account since Christmas and I’ve found that someone has hacked my account and changed my WordPress password. On my website now I am greeted with:

WE ARE NOT DEAD YET 😉
TEAM HAXORSISTZ
BANGLADESHI UNDERGROUND HACKERS

I’ve notified my hosting company and am awaiting a response, but I cannot even log into WordPress site to try and clear everything out and start from scratch again.

Can anyone help me just to reset my WordPress password as I now have know idea what they have done to my site and I’m not sure if they have changed my email details as when I tried to change my password – I never received a notification to make the changes…

Any help would be greatly appreciated and to hopefully highlight and send out a warning to other fellow WordPress users just in case their sites are also targeted.

Hi Esmi

Thank you for prompt response – unfortunately I cannot log into the admin panel to change my password as they have changed my details – when I filled in my user name to reset my password, the reset instructions never came through to my email address, so I think they have hacked that and changed the email details too..

I tried going through the resetting my password instructions by going to http://www.whatsthebestdietfor.com/wordpress/wp-login.php and I have this message awaiting me:

Hacked By DR-MTMRD

I’m sorry if I sound really thick – but this was my very first attempt at hosting a website, and I’m really angry and upset that someone has done this and I feel helpless to get the ball rolling (even just to get back into WordPress and delete and clense everything to start again)..

Any just to be able to access WordPress?

I cannot log into the admin panel to change my password

That’s what I assumed. The page I linked to above includes details of how to reset your password via the database.

Hi again..

I’m going to try via the method you have suggested – this is well above my head, so it may take me some time..

Thank you again – I’ll come back to confirm as soon as I am able (if I can work my way through the instructions) if/once resolved.

Not a problem. Just take it slowly – one step at a time – and you should be OK. If you hit any problems along the way or don’t understand one of the recommended steps, just let us know.

Hi again,

Progress report – got fed up of waiting for Hostzilla to assist me (still no response), I followed the instructions on how to change my password.

So step one accomplished and am finally back into my site.

It looks like the majority of my content is still there – but there the hack appears to have been via the Theme on my site.

I found the below article:

I’ve looked at the theme set up, and can see that’s where the string of code has been inserted – but I don’t know how to delete it..

Can it be deleted via WordPress or can I only delete it via my hosting site?

If I can get rid of that, I can then go through the other processes until Hostzilla finally get in touch with me..
