Please help, newbie very frustrated

    I know this is going to sound so silly but I am really frustrated. I have been searching for the answer and I still can not find what I need.
    I have a site hosted through hostgator.
    They sent me all the information and I was able to start playing with my blog. My blog being recycledcraftblog.com
    I use cpanel. I had to take a break for a week and just went back to use it and I am lost.
    I installed word press from the fantastico (i think that is it) in cpanel. I was using the dashboard to change themes, use the widgets and so on. I installed a theme from courts internet marketing site. I really like it.
    Today I go back to log on and I can’t or I have forgot how to.
    I use the/admin and it says it no longer exists. I logged on to wordpress and it gives me an old blog I had through them a long time ago. I chat with hostgator and they say to go to the cpanel/html and I can acess it there. I can’t find it anywhere. I have no clue how to get back or find a link or whatever it is I need to do to get to the dashboard of my blog. Please help.

    I’m glad traci asked this question.

    I am having the exact same problem. Please help.
    I’ve tried everything. I have removed and re-installed, changed themes, but no matter what, once I leave the admin area after the first time and try to get back in with http://”my url”.com/wp-admin./, all I get is a 404, page not found error.

    Surely someone has a fix or a solution. I’m sure it’s something I’ve done or haven’t done, but I cant figure it out.

    Hello Darrin,
    I finally called hostgator and they told me to http://YOURDOMAINE.com/wp-admin and then put your name and password in.
    FINALLY it worked!

    I am having the same problem.

    How do i get into wordpress to edit my site?? and post things?

    I have searched my control panel.. and the only option it gives me under site software is to uninstall WP or install it again.

    Why cant i just log into it like i did the first time and amend things and post stuff?

    you dont get there from your hosting control panel. if you are having the same problem, then you you read what the poster above you wrote? Or no?

    try that, where my-url.com is where YOUR url is.

    I have tried that, i get a 404 error page when i type my URL and then /wp-admin

    I really hope someone can help with this its so frustrating.

    Its as though the WP area i should be accessing to edit my site is locked somehow??

    is this a possibility?
