   Hi there

   I really need some help! My site has gone down and the error message is:

   Maintenance/Error
   (500 - Internal Server Error)

   The page you are trying to access is currently not working properly. This may be due to server maintenance or a software error. Please try again in 5-10 minutes.

   It's been down since last night and it is a bit of a disaster (getting 10,00 flyers delivered and hoping some try to access the site!)

   I have no idea why - I didn't do anything immediately before it went down to cause it as far as I am aware, which is why I thought it was just server maintenance....

   I'm only just learning about how to use WP so can get into the ftp files but don't understand it all... help would be appreciated!

   When the server is down, I'd say: talk to your host.

   I have done that. but the server isn't actually down - think it may be the latter - software error within WP? My other site hosted with the same guys is fine...

   Am waiting for the host but thought someone here migh be able to help! Trying all angles...

   Did you do anything before this happened? Upgrading, installing a plugin or theme? Does the admin side work or is everything down? Can you use FTP and the control panel?

   Everytyhing is down - can't access the control panel but can get into the FTP / files.

   Have installed a couple of plugins but all have run fine afterwards - nothing immediately before it went down, which is why I ignred it at first, thought it was just the server down when I checked last night!
