What you describe would indicate your site has been hacked.
I would check with your host and ask them to review their virus scan logs to see if there is an issue they can spot. Once they have restored the site again, make sure you change your passwords for any administrator level accounts. You can also try installing a plugin such as WordFence Security and, of course, keep all your plugins and WordPress versions up to date, as I know similar hacks have happened in the past to specific plugins – for example: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-hacked-1.
You could also check with the Maya theme developer. As I believe that is a commercial theme sold through ThemeForest, it would be best to post a support request in Maya’s forums. Most volunteers who try to help with the WordPress forums will not have access to commercial products. This approach also helps commercial developers better manage their product.
For more information on regarding commercial product support and the WordPress forums, please review the following link: http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Commercial_Products
It also helps to make your support post here less generic like “please help me” to something like “my website is redirecting to another website”. The mods here are awesome… If your titles are descriptive ☺
Thank you for your help, I have taken your advise and installed wordfence after my host did a backup of the site and all is okay now (touch wood)
That’s great to hear! If you could take a moment and mark the thread as “resolved”, that will really help out the moderators and other volunteers.
Hi,
Unfortunately today the problem is back and now I’m really stuck and unsure what I can do.
Please can someone help, my site is running Maya has anyone else solved this issue??
I keep getting this notice at our new site on politics:
Bandwidth Limit Exceeded
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.

Might we have been hacked, even before we’re fully operational?
Eric , it’s against the rules to post your own question on another person’s post. You’ll get a better response if you start your own post 🙂
