Hi, please help with setting up my wordpress. I've installed the file from "download" section of this site, and opened the file called wp-config-sample.php like the readme said, but I can't make heads or tails of what I'm supposed to do next...
I'm online most of the time, please im me on msn at die_zauberflote620@yahoo.com
I'll be checking here for any other help in the meantime.
Don't panic, just answer the questions :)
Do you have a database already? (Who is your host?)
If yes, you should know the 4 pieces of info that you need.

I have freewebs as my host, but i've already bought a domain name, that doens't change anything tho, does it?
If you have a domain name, a webserver (mostly hosted!) and a database (mysql) than your first step is done!
Second step is to edit the wp-config-smple.php and add your database info (such like username, databasename, password and database)
Then rename it to wp-config.php and upload it to the main directory of the wordpress install.
The rest is in the readme
EDIT: your webserver must have PHP installed! Mostly it is, like in 99% off the times!

I have 2 WordPress blogs - the new one doesn't have "plugins" on the panel. The old one has plugins right between presentation and users. Anybody know how that happens. The new one is very difficult to add graphics too as well.

Hi. I'm moving my web site to a new location. Previously, my friend who web-hosted me set up wordpress so that it could work from http://blog.domain.com but actually reside on http://www.domain.com/blog/
Since then I've been trying to set it up myself in this way. Although the hidden redirect works, I can't seem to get my wordpress installation to come up correctly. It either goes into endless loop or comes up in a strange text-only form. I would like to know the exact changes I need to make from the point of a clean install on how to get the site to work as http://blog.domain.com and actually be in http://www.domain.com/blog
Regards,
Nathaniel
