    I'm totally new to this but I think you go to the home page and scroll all the way down to Appearance and then click Header Image and Color. Then it should give you an option to change the color.

    Were you able to upload an image to the header box? I can't figure out how to put a picture there. Any suggestions?

    Okay, here's what you have for your header in style.css:

    #header {
    		 background:url(images/header-bg(3).gif);
    		 color: black;
    		 height:165px;
    		 padding: 10px 10px 10px 10px;
    		 margin-top:10px;
    		 margin-left:10px;
    		 margin-right:10px;
    		 margin-bottom:10px;
    		 border:1px solid #DDDDDD;
    		 overflow:hidden;
    		 text-align:center;
    		 }

    In the first line, try this with the background (adding single quotes at each end of the image path):

    background:url('images/header-bg(3).gif');

    Verify that the above image is in your images folder. If it isn't, or the file name is wrong, then change it so it and the stylesheet names match.

    To return the old image, put its file name in the background line above. Make sure the old image is in the images folder. Make sure it's height is the same as the height you have listed under #header in style.css, if you changed it at some point earlier.

    Good luck. Let us know if this helps.

    Sorry, I can't see your image with the link provided.

    What you need to do is go backwards and undo what you did when you got started. Probably easier said then done, but that's where we're at here.

    Asking you to haphazardly make changes beyond this point risks causing future problems, especially at your level of familiarity with CSS/XHTML and WordPress templates. You could attempt to re-install the parts of your theme that you changed, but that would cause problems if your theme was customized from the original (things could mess up real bad). So I'm not even suggesting you do that.

    I suggest two things:

    1) Access the WordPress Codex and start from the beginning. We all had to start some where, and you'd be surprised how readily the information will help you understand your theme better.

    If that's not working,

    2) Obtain the services of a local web designer (who understands WordPress) who can walk you through the issues.

    I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you further, and wish you success with your website.
