Not working
-
I honestly don’t know what’s going on. I have installed and re-installed and changed nothing on the CSS or the Javascript and yet both seem to be missing completely.
I NEED THIS FOR WORK!
Please help!

@rekkette – Have you checked for plugins causing a conflict on your site? Perhaps something in one of the widgets in your sidebar … the page source looks to be giving a clue as to it not being completely rendered and therefore you footer is not being rendered which would cause problems.
– Cais.
Well, I have un-installed the plugin a number of times. I’m assuming there’s some sort of log that’s maintaing the information because even when I reinstall, all of my meta information is still extactly like when I supposedly deleted all the files.
I think what’s causing it is that I FTP deleted some of the files at some point.
Your site shows two DOCTYPES – that’s a major problem. The validator gets a server error too:
Is there a way to find which line of code inside is causing the error?
No, but I thought you were using a child theme? Did you modify the parent theme header.php file?
Yes… A lot. And I did save it as a child theme.
You do not have a child theme active on your site. And you should not be modifying parent theme files AT ALL. Those changes will be lost when the theme is updated – and your site will likely be messed up. Perhaps you need to review –
I just looked though… a lot of the errors that the validator at w3 is picking up on have to do with code inserted by my installed plugins… not with changes I made to my style sheets.
I think the problem with NextGen more likely has to do with some database issue when I was deleting/re-installing.
I do have a child theme active.
@rekkette – Depending on how you were “deleting/re-installing” could cause odd issues to occur … it may be best for you to submit a Bug Report (http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can have a closer look at your site and possibly put our Reset Tool plugin to use which may sort out this issue.
Although there could still be underlying issues as noted by @wpyogi (BTW, thanks).
– Cais.
Okay I will do that.
BTW, I do have a child theme active.
I truly think this is a database issue.
I really need to have a functional gallery on this site ASAP
I definitely deleted files suing FTP.
That’s why I think it’s likely database-related… especially since a lot of meta data has remained even after mutliple un-install, re-installs
That’s not what shows up on your site:
http://rachelforshee.net/wp-content/themes/bold-headline/style.css?ver=3.7.1
Your style.css file shows the name has been changed, but it’s not a valid child theme
/* Theme Name: Rachel's Bold Headline Theme URI: http://www.rachelforshee.net Author: Rachel Forshee Author URI: http://rachelforshee.net/ Description:
That still doesn’t explain why NextGen isn’t working.
Like I said, I think something funky is going on with the database from the way I un-installed/re-installed and I’m looking for a way to fix that.
You are correct that an improperly installed child theme will be affected IF I TRY TO REINSTALL THE PARENT THEME. I have not done. I REALLY doubt that is what is causing this particular problem.
No problem – I’m sure NGG will be happy to help you with this.
hi Rachel,
I just did a quick test and both theme and plugin seem to be fine.

not sure exactly what problem you are experiencing.
