Pingbacks from own blog

Hi folks,

I added a post to my blog and I added a link to another post. I noticed in the admin panel that there is now a pingback to the post I linked to and it shows up at the bottom of the post. I don’t really want this to happen as the list will be massive as I cross-promote posts with others.

Is there any way to blacklist the blogs own domain for Pingbacks? Is this an acceptable practice or will it harm my search engine rankings?
