The amount of pingback spam I have been getting has become overwhelming and I don't think I am alone.
I am using Spam Karma but it is unable to catch most of the pingback spam I am getting.
I don't want to have to turn pingbacks off but I was wondering if there was any way to tweak wordpress or spam karma to reduce the level of pingback spam getting through.

SK2 worked for me for about a year, but I started to make the switch to Akismet once a lot more spam was getting through, including Trackbacks. At the moment, I get about 2-3 a month (that make it through Akismet) on my little'ol'blog thats been active for 2+ years.
The other option is to adjust the settings in SK2 to be a little more harsh when looking at spam.
Other than that, as you said, you can disble trackbacks.

I have Akismet and Bad Behaviour 2 running (no SK2) and no spam gets through.

I just got pinged for the first time to this site and my site views jumped from one or two up to 27 in a day. The site that pinged me didn't take the whole post and in fact directs the reader back to me for the full post. Is this a bad thing? Do I need to delete the pingback?
