I don't understand pingbacks, and none of the forum posts about it help. I got several of these emails:

I have comments turned off, so these are pingbacks. But I can't find where on the moderation page the pinging blog's URL is located. I'm not launched yet, the site is hidden from the search engines, and I've told no one.
Could I be pinging myself by chance? Or am I pinging other sites with my own links, and this is what is triggering the pingback notifications?
Am I supposed to be moderating my blog's automatic pinging behavior? If my blog is pinging itself, how do I stop this? If it's happening, every link in my blog to some other page in my blog will generate a notification, right?
Please help. Thanks!
