Picture in sidebar (5 posts)

    I wish there was an easy way to load a picture on the side bar like in Blogger. I have read the posts in the forum, but they still are not clear to me. I had added a text box widget and my picture link...but only the text is published and not the actual image. Am I missing more htlm? Is WordPress ever going to have an "ADD PICTURE" widget?

    Add a Text Widget. Edit it.
    Add: <img src="http://whereyourimageis.jpg" width="the desired size in pixels" height="the desired size in pixel">. Now you have the image in the sidebar.

    Note that http://whereyourimageis.jpg should be the path to your actual image, like: if you want to add the picture of the day from Wikimedia Commons to your sidebar, you will use this path: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2b/ST_vs_LOU_-_21.jpg/600px-ST_vs_LOU_-_21.jpg

    Use it like this <img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2b/ST_vs_LOU_-_21.jpg/600px-ST_vs_LOU_-_21.jpg" width="the desired size in pixels" height="the desired size in pixel">

    The width and height should contain numeric values, like width="200px" height="200px"

    Is WordPress ever going to have an "ADD PICTURE" widget?

    try and search the plugin section for 'image widget' http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=image+widget

    Hello The Sweeper! I downloaded The Image Widget...it is exactly what I was hoping for...life will be a lot easier managing three blogs with this handy upload!!
