   I've been looking all night for a simple way to take the first pic WP finds in a post and make it into a thumbnail for the front page excerpts.

   I found Get The Image, but can't seem to get it working as I'm pretty new to WP.

   Any suggestions?

   If anyone else is interested, I found this plugin called Simple Post Thumbnails.

   Just download it, put it in your plugins folder, activate it, and then put this code in The Loop.

   Viola! Instant thumbnails. :D

   Would this work with NextGen gallery images/galleries?
