    Hi,
My host does not supply any db tools (like phpmyadmin), but suggests I install same myself on their server to admin my db. Seems like a security issue.
Is there a way to admin a remote db from a copy of phpmyadmin running on my local computer? Is it as simple as installing a new copy of it and moding config.inc.php?

  • It would be much less secure if you could access the database remotely no matter what tool was used. What they said is correct, install your own phpmyadmin or other web tool on your account. But….. secure it. Password protect the URL it sits under and use login control at the interface itself.
