php_flag register_globals On

Since 72 hours ago that i’m not receiving any emails concerning comments notification.
I spoke with the ISP and he told me that i had to change 2 lines of a WP 1.5 standard function but i refused cause if there is no one complaining about that why must i change ?
Today he told me that the he changed the “php_flag register_globals On” to the previous state but emails are not coming.
Can someone please give me some help cause i suspect that the problem is at the ISP mail server and not, as he told me, at the php_flag…

Ps. I began just now receiving email notifications that where posted 3 days ago. If he changed back the parameter today morning why am i receiving those “old” notifications ?
