Hello all,
I'd appreciate some help with the following infamous error:
"Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress."
I'm running:
WordPress 3.1
PHP 5.3.5
Apache 2.2 on Windows 7
I have already:
* Uncommented the relevant extensions in php.ini
* Made sure the php directory is in the Windows path
Any further suggestions for fixing it would be great.
Thanks,
LA
are you using wamp or xampp or what?

Neither, as far as I know. I didn't know they existed until you mentioned them - I simply downloaded and installed the Windows binaries for Apache, then MySQL, then PHP.

That did indeed seem to work just perfectly.
Many, many thanks Samuel, you've really saved me a lot of frustration.
