Hrm,... interesting idea. Sort of an "advanced" search? Try this:
    index.php?s=mama&submit=Search&cat=19
Ok, just tried it and it doesn't work.

Another question: what's the syntax used to retun a certain number of posts - say the top 3 or most recent 3 or something along those lines?

I've also been trying to figure out a way search with both the search term and a category id. Anyone have any ideas on how this might be done? I'm currently trying to get my head around php so that I can figure it out for myself but it could take a while.
In my opinion this would be a great feature - the normal search is fine but if you end up with a lot of posts it would be great to be able to search only within a certain category (or even better, more than one category)

I too have ran into this problem :/
Check how my search page is done:

Looks sweet, but would be sweeter if it worked *rolleyes*

I've not used this, nor looked at the code - which would be pointless anyway as I know zip about php.
    Useful ?
    Advanced contextual search.
