Photography Theme nav bar changed to huge dropdown

I am new to wordpress but created a site using the photography theme. In Chrome my parent pages show in a nav/menu bar at the top right of the page and I am fine with that. But I just opened my site in IE 8 and now I see a huge long dropdown that starts with Show Menu and it displays all of my Parent and child pages but I can no longer see my pictures/content in the page. I don’t know what happened. I have not made any custom changes to any menu/nav bar. In later versions of IE it seems ok sometimes.
